Meet The Team
John has been creating unexpected moments of wonder for the past 20 years. A veteran balloon sculptor and fixture of the New York area magic scene, John oversees every aspect of Tricky Business , with support from his talented staff and ever-patient friends.
John is an internationally recognized, award-winning balloon twister. His detailed and original sculptures are a hit with children of all ages, and his larger installations have been featured with Disney, the Martha Stewart Show, and The White House, where he has been the president’s balloon twister of choice for their 4th of July celebrations for the past 5 years. John has even made a balloon dress for a rock star.
John is also an accomplished magician. His magic delights audiences at schools, libraries, corporate events, and private parties along the east coast. For the past 17 years John has been a lead instructor at Tannens magic camp, the longest running magic camp in the country. His workshops have the highest number of repeat students of any instructor at the camp. He is also a featured presenter for Teach By Magic, a program that teaches teachers to engage their students using magic.
During his rare moments of free time, John enjoys sampling many different kinds of pie.
AKA Tarazz, Tara is the glue that holds us all together. Tara is our manager as well as an expert balloon sculptor. Tara books and coordinates all our shows and gigs. She’s worked super gigs like the White House as well as events for big names like Burberry . She loves our pet tortoises and has a penchant for crab rangoon.
A major player in keeping things running smoothly, Cait is another one of our amazing balloon twisters. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Photography. Cait hopes to one day get her masters degree in Microbiology, but for now is enjoying expressing her creativity through balloon sculpture.
